Description
The superb work of a mountain smith, undiluted by foreign influence. The grip wrought entirely in engraved silver in characteristic vinework with nielloed borders, an inscription on the reverse on partially legible, ABAK 1302 (1902 c.e.) The fine blade of characteristic form with acute tip, retaining its original blackened edges with bright polished central panel inscribed, ABDUL ASHAN 1312 (1894 c.e.) In its wooden scabbard with small shagreen section and large locket and chape decorated en suite wit the hilt. Dated 1902. Minor wear to the reverse, slight rubbing to black areas. Overall length 55.5cm./ 21 7/8 inches. Condition II
