Description
Bagobo People, Mindanao. A rare form carved from a single section of wood with raised central boss and integral grip to the reverse, and decorated with chip-carving in geometrical motifs throughout. Heavier and substantially thicker than the commoner form and showing some stylistic influence from the Bontoc examples. 19th-20th century. Overall length 90.5 cm./ 37 ½ inches. Condition II
