Description
The work of a Chechen master. The horn grip mounted entirely in engraved and nielloed silver in characteristic vinework with beaded borders. The fine blade of characteristic form with acute tip, with two broad fullers and one narrow central fuller, with etched decoration. Struck at the forte with a makers mark. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with large locket and chape decorated en suite with the hilt, the locket inscribed ABUBAKR 1327 (1909 c.e.) Minor wear. Overall length 57cm./ 22 ½ inches. Condition II
