Description
A classic example with exotic grips and silvered guard and guard. The broad, T-section blade wrought of Ottoman wootz with expanded yelman or back edge and inscribed in a gold-inlaid seal of Solomon MASH’ALLAH! (GOD’S BLESSING!) to one side and MUHAMMAD! on the other, with traces of another inscription at the spine. Mid-18th century. Wear and rubbing, isolated light pitting. Overall length 80.6cm./ 31 47/64 inches. Condition III
