Description
Daghestan work, the slender, handsomely-grained hardwood stock of characteristic form, the lock lavishly inlaid with gold, the butt mount finely inlaid in mother of pearl. The rifled, heirloom barrel wrought of fine pattern welded damascus steel with swamped muzzle, struck at the breech with a makers mark. Retained to the barrel with five broad silver bands. Retains its ramrod. First half of the 19th century. Minor wear, losses and wax repairs to pearl inlays. Overall length 149.5cm/ 58 ¾ inches. Condition III
