Description
Elaborately carved horn handle with brass ferrule, and well-wrought steel blade of characteristic form with double fullers at the spine, possibly damascus steel, and inlaid with YA MUHAMMAD! (O Muhammad) and the date 1228 (1812/13.) In its matching hardwood scabbard stained red, with finely engraved and gilded mounts. Dated 1812. Minor wear. Overall length 82cm / 32 1/3?. Condition II
