Description
Of characteristic form, the translucent horn grips with rolled pommel, the eyelets, tangband, and fine guard all wrought of silver with engraved borders and gilded overall. The long, elegant, curved, single-edged blade wrought of fine, intricately-patterned black wootz. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with large, engraved and gilded silver mounts en suite with the hilt. Late 18th century. Gilding rubbed, leather refreshed. Overall length 97cm / 38 1/8". Condition III
