Edo Period, a large example of characteristic form, elegantly curved with naginata hi fullering and long, broad kissaki. The blade of classic form with temperline and grain faintly visible in areas. Signed Sakushu Tsuyama ju Kanesaki. With copper habaki and tsuba. The shortened wooden haft with copper mounts and gilded cord grip wrap. Mid-17th century. Out of polish, scratches, minor pitting. Overall length 100.5cm / 39 1/2?. Condition III
