Of characteristic form, with polished horn grips and steel pommel, the guard showing faint wootz construction, with silver tangband. The fine, long, broad heirloom blade of shallow curvature, forged of fine Persian wootz, and inscribed with a cartouche at the right forte reading, AMAL ASSAD ALLAH. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with steel suspension bands. 18th century. Guard and blade with areas of pitting. Overall length 90.3cm./35 36/64 inches. Condition III
