The first with massive bone grips of Balkan form, the elaborate tangband set with coral. The broad, single-edged recurved blade with double back fullers and inlaid silver panel inscribed, WORK OF ALHAJI MEHMET OWNER HAMID 1253 (1837C.E.) The wooden scabbard with stitched leather covering and large engraved silver mounts. The second with antler grips and nielloed silver reinforces. The blade with incised decoration and stamped makers mark. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard. The first dated 1837. As found. Overall length of the longer 74cm./ 29 ¼ inches. Condition V
