Likely Epirot work, the grips of fine, fibrous horn with finely embossed and engraved silver tangband, ferrule and reinforces in baroque motifs. The broad, recurved, hollow ground blade finely wrought of numerous layers of twistcore damascus steel and well finished. The wooden scabbard mounted entirely in embossed and engraved silver showing superb workmanship in baroque motifs en suite with the hilt. First quarter of the 19th century. Overall length 63.5cm/ 25 inches. Condition II
