Description
Of characteristic form, carved from a single large section of wood with raised central ridge and integral grip to the reverse and elaborately embellished with numerous hair tassels. Both the obverse and reverse surfaces painted overall with organic pigments, depicting dragons and demons with complex interlaced tentacles. Late19th-early 20th century. Wear and fading. Overall length 130cm./ 51 ¼ inches. Condition III
