Description
Moro People, likely Maguindanao. A quality example with finely-carved hardwood hilt and original rattan wrap bands. The blade showing clear handforged layering, with hardened edge and characteristic profiled and inlaid tip with intact spikelet. 19th century. Minor wear, minor areas of pitting. Overall length 101.2cm./ 39 3/4 inches. Condition III
