Description
Work of a Bicol master, the broad, straight blade thick at the forte and terminating in a clipped and radiused cutting tip with hardened edge; a very effective and well-made weapon. With a very rare horn hilt, the grip faceted, the pommel carved as a fully-modeled horse head with faceted brass ferrule. 19th-early 20th century. Minor wear, blade shows sharpening old. Overall length 53.5cm/ 21 inches. Condition II
