A RARE RUSSIAN KINDJAL DAGGER
Description
An elaborately decorated example of characteristic form, the mounts wrought entirely of silver, heavily gilded and finely embellished with champleve enamel in five colors: white, green, blue, red, and yellow; the pommel set with two malachite stones, the reverse elaborately engraved and nielloed. The double-edged blade with central fullers and struck with Russian marks. First half of the 20th century. Minor wear and losses. Overall length 41cm./ 16 1/8 inches. Condition II
