A FINE ROCK CRYSTAL-HILTED INDIAN DAGGER
Description
The grip carved of a single large section of rock crystal with rolled pommel, inlaid at either side with a six-petaled flower in high-karat gold set with rubies and emeralds, together with five leaves inlaid in high karat gold set with emeralds. The single-edged wootz blade with gold-inlaid ferrule, and forged of wootz in a fine, complex pattern. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with gilt binding. 19th- 20th century. Minor rubbing. Overall length 32cm./ 12 5/8 inches. Condition II
