Description
Mughal work, the grip carved of a single piece of pale green hardstone, terminating in a fully-modeled horses head, set overall with numerous colored stones. The fine double-edged blade of characteristic form inlaid at the forte in gold, and forged of actively-patterned Persian black wootz. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard. 19th-20th century. Overall length 32cm./ 12 5/8 inches. Velvet rubbed. Condition III
