Description
A robust example, the South Indian baskethilt of bronze decorated in talismanic birdseye motifs. The broad, single-edged blade expanding continuously toward the spatulate tip, with central fuller to either side and displaying traces of pattern-welded damascus construction, struck with a trisula makers mark. Mid-18th century. Well worn. Overall length 101cm./ 39 ¾ inches. Condition III
