A RARE CAUCASIAN BLUNDERBUSS PISTOL
Description
The hardwood stock of characteristic form inlaid with bone panels and brass medallions, with lanyard ring intact at the butt. The miquelet lock and trigger of polished steel. The barrel with flared muzzle, finely wrought of pattern welded damascus steel with chiseled breach and retained to the stock with a silver band, engraved and nielloed. Second quarter of the 19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 39cm./ 15 3/8 inches. Condition III
