Tanjore work, the intricately pierced and chiseled steel hilt of characteristic form, with considerable remains of silver inlay. The massive double-edged blade wrought with deep fullers and robust armor-piercing tip, showing traces of wootz patterning. 17th century. Generally worn, blade pitted. Overall length 40.5cm / 15 15/16 inches. Condition III
