Description
The waisted grip of characteristic form, with intricately engraved silver mounts and twisted silver wire wrap, a turquoise set in the pommel. The lightly curved, double-edged blade with distinct central ridge forged of exceptional Persian black wootz steel in a complex Ladder pattern. In its wooden scabbard sheathed entirely in finely-engraved silver en suite with the hilt. First half of the 19th century. Scabbard worn, period repairs. Overall length 39.4cm./ 15 33/64 inches. Condition III
