Description
Of characteristic form, bronze with fine band of geometrical embellishment muzzle above the touch hole, prominent cascabel and trunnions. Well-patinated. C. 1750-1850. Such cannon were popular throughout
the Moro lands and Borneo, where they were used on shipboard, the rails of longhouses and other dwellings, and as part of the dowry. Mounted on a hardwood carriage for presentation, probably to a groom. Overall length 23cm./ 9 inches. Condition III
