Kachin work, the hilt with applied bone pommel, the rattan-wrapped grip lacquered, with brass ferrule. The chisel-edged blade with characteristic flared tip, with layer-forged construction visible near the cutting edge. In its wooden scabbard with intact rattan sling and bindings. Late 19th century. Worn. Overall length 81.9cm/ 32 ¼ inches. Condition III
