Of classic form, the gilt brass hilt elaborately embellished with scrollwork, the pommel a fully-modeled makara head with ruby eyes, the knucklebow and guard likewise terminating in monster heads. With curved, single-edged blade. In its finely embellished gilt brass scabbard decorated en suite with the hilt, the terminal likewise formed as a monster head. 19th century. Minor wear, gilding worn, blade with sharpening marks. Overall length 50cm/ 19 ¾ inches. Condition III
