A rarely-encountered type. The Old Indian-form of hilt composed of a complex brass guard with long, profiled reinforces, an iron grip and square wooden pommel surmounted by brass and iron caps containing jingles. The handwrought blade straight and double-edged, with acute tip. Late 16th- early 17th century. Patinaed overall. Overall length 82.5cm/ 32 ½ inches. Condition IV
