Description
The grip of characteristic form, carved hardwood and fluted overall, set with large, filigreed silver appliques, the guard of engraved silver. The lightly-curved Ottoman blade with yelman or raised back edge and three fullers, with radiused tip. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with elaborately engraved silver mounts. 19th century. Well worn, remains of adhesive to hilt, minor areas of pitting to blade, scabbard mounts abraded and patched. Overall length 93.6cm/ 36 ¾ inches. Condition III
