Of characteristic form, the horn grips with fingerstalls and rolled pommel, the eyelets, tangband, and recurved guard all wrought of brass. With long, handwrought, elegant and single-edged blade pitted over the last third. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with large, engraved brass mounts and steel chape. Early 19th century. One langet partially packing, leather frayed at the seam. From the collection of a distinguished retired Lt. Colonel in the American Army, acquired while stationed in Bosnia in 2001-2. Overall length 94.2cm/37 1/8 inches. Condition III
