A very rare example of Ottoman work for a high-ranking officer, the head canted and bearded, the surface deeply inlaid overall with gold in intertwining flowering vine motifs. Mounted on its rectangular-section wooden haft with brass mounts. 17th – 18th century. Inlay rubbed. Velvet refreshed. Overall length 65.6cm / 25 ¾ inches. Condition III
