Description
A hunting sword, the iron hilt with parrot head pommel finely engraved and heavily gilded overall. The lightly-curved curved, single-edged blade with engraved Arabic inscription at the forte, and lengthy panels of animals hunting. Wrought of fine Persian black wootz, highly contrasted and actively grained, and terminating in a rare bifurcated Zulfikar tip. 18th-19th century. Overall length 90.1cm. Condition II
