Description
A rare example associated with the Munich Town Guard. Of characteristic “black and white” type, wrought in two halves with finely embossed bright polished fleur de lis to either side, the remainder with typical black finish. The broad, upturned brim with rolled, roped edge. Retains all of its original rare stamped brass rosettes. First half of the 17th century. Minor wear. Overall height 27cm/ 10 5/8 inches. Condition II
