Description
In aikuchi mounts, a rare Koto era dagger of moroha double-edged form, of flattened diamond section used for yoroidoshi (armor-piercing) with visible grain and clear suguha temperline on both edges and kissaki. With steel mounts intricately inlaid in gold and silver, with blue tsuka ito and black-lacquered saya fitted with a horn kogai. Silver habaki. 16th-17th century. Minor wear overall. Overall length 29.3cm/12 inches, nagasa 16.5cm/ 6 1/2 inches. Condition III
