Likely a pre-regulation example, the characteristic brass hilt terminating in an especially well-chiseled lions head, the guard with fine imperial crown at the ecusson and artichoke quillon terminals, with double knuckle chain. The blade lightly-curved and robust, with original leather washer to forte. In its brass scabbard with double suspension rings marked at the locket, 2ND, , W. INDIA. C. 1820. Minor wear. Overall length 77cm./ 30 1/3 inches. Condition II
