The hilt of characteristic form, likely Turkmen work, with much original grip leather intact, with faceted steel pommel and guard, the massive heirloom Persian blade exceptionally broad and wrought of very fine patternwelded damascus steel of a contrast and complexity sufficient to appear as Kara Taban wootz.
