Description
Mounted in silver, the hilt deeply engraved and superbly nielloed. The curved, handforged blade broad and multifullered, etched at the forte with decorative panels involving vinework and a sun in splendor. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with large silver mounts engraved and nielloed en suite with the hilt, the reverse of the locket with Russian crest. Overall length 94.5 cm./ 37 ? inches. Leather scuffed, blade with areas of pitting. 20th century. Condition III
