The cup with deeply rolled edge designed to catch an opponent?s blade, with beaded quillon terminals and knucklebow bolted to the faceted pommel. The grip covered in sharkskin and retaining its twisted wire wrap. The straight, well- balanced triangular blade hollow ground, with unusual thickened armor-piercing tip. 18th century. Minor wear. A type extremely popular in the Caribbean. Overall length 104.9cm./ 41 1/3 inches. Condition II
