A classic example of the type, with bone grips and well-wrought blade with T-back and raised chamfered edge, appears to show evidence of wootz forging. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with iron chape and remains of suspension straps. 19th century. Worn, losses to leather. Overall length 46.3cm./ 18 1/4 inches. Condition III
