An above-average example, the grips of two types of horn, translucent blonde and dark brown, each set with an engraved silver escutcheon and white metal mounts, the butt trilobate. The well-wrought steel blade with pronounced clipped tip struck BATISSE with makers mark. Mid-19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 41 cm / 16 1/8 inches. Condition II
