Description
Likely German, the mounts wrought entirely of hallmarked silver in elegant baroque motifs, the grip of elephant, the lightly-curved blade with broad central fuller back-edged and etched with hounds pursuing boars and stags amongst baroque motifs. In its leather scabbard with en suite silver mounts, the locket containing a matched knife and two-tined fork hilted en suite with the sword. Latter 18th century. Obverse leather worn. Overall length 49.3cm./ 19 ? inches. Condition II
