A classic example, the massive miquelet lock of characteristic form, with engraved brass borders and doglock safety, with profiled brass jaw-screw finial, and buttplate and barrel bands. The octagonal barrel flared at the muzzle. Retains its ramrod. Mid-19th century. Overall length 143.3 cm. Condition II
