Description
Made by Toledo craftsmen, based closely upon the sword of the last Muslim ruler of Granada, Muhammad XII, known as Boabdil (1460-1533.) Grip of bakelite, the mounts elaborately engraved, enameled and heavily gilded. The long, straight, double-edged blade with gilded and enameled panels at the forte, marked TOLEDO, SPAIN. In its leather scabbard with finely engraved, gilded and enameled mounts decorated en suite with the hilt. Second quarter of the 20th century. Light wear. Overall length 108 cm. Condition II
