Description
A massive example with characteristic elephant grips and well-wrought blade with T-back and raised, chamfered edge, forged of fine Persian Kara Taban black wootz damascus steel, chiseled with a Timurid trefoil at the base of the spine. The tangband likewise wootz, with gold-inlaid toggle. Late 18th century. Overall length 45 cm. Slight pitting in isolated areas. Condition III
