Description
Probably Mindanao, conflating characteristics of the Moro kampilan and the equally distinctive T’boli scabbard, the pommel in the form of a crocodile head with metal eyes and inlays with tufts to the underside, the blade expanding toward the profiled tip. In its wooden scabbard carved with stepped mounts and inlaid metal, the tip with tasseled cylindrical finials. Mid-20th century. Light wear. Overall length 88 cm.
