Description
A rare form, displaying design characteristics derived from both Central Asian sabers and the Cossack shashka. The wooden grips with large pommel and steel bolster, the heavy, single-edged blade fullered, with back edge, struck at the forte with Mazar-i-Sharif and other marks. In its wooden scabbard with steel mounts. Late 19th-early 20th century. Scabbard as found. Overall length 99.5 cm. Condition IV
