A rare form, displaying design characteristics derived from both Central Asian sabers and the Cossack shashka. The hardwood grips with profiled mother of pearl inlays and steel bolster, the heavy, single-edged blade with broad fuller. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with steel mounts. Second half of the 19th century. Overall length 97.5 cm. Condition III
