Description
A large example of characteristic form, made of hide laced to a central wooden post with integral grip, the edges bound to stripped branches with tightly-coiled hide. The obverse painted in geometrical patterns using organic pigments. First half of the 20th century. Acquired by John Woodman Higgins in 1963 and donated to the museum in 2004. Ex-Higgins Armory Museum, Worcester, MA. Overall length 87.8 cm.Condition II
