Description
A true fighting weapon, the crescent blade and hook with characteristic profiling designed to catch an opponent’s blade, and long, broad thrusting spike with raised central ridge and obtuse tip. The expanded socket of square section, retained to the original oak haft by four inletted steel straps. Early 16th century. Period repair to spike, distal end of haft repaired in period. Overall length 226 cm. Condition III
