The elegant hilt wrought entirely of silver with vinework engraving. The robust, lightly curved blade single-edged and elaborately inlaid with gold inscriptions at the forte on either side in geometrical cartouches, LA ULLAH ILLA ALLAH (There is no god but Allah!) MUHAMMAD RASUL ALLAH (Muhammad is the prophet of Allah!) LA FATA ILLA ‘ALI / LA SAIF ILLA ZUL FAQAR (There is no hero like ‘Ali, no sword like Zul Faqar) and signed, AMAL ASSAD ALLAH ISFAHANI (Work of Assad Allah Isfahani.) Overall length 91 cm.
