A fine Mughal example, the wooden body superbly carved in precise fluted panels terminating in acanthus borders and black lacquered overall with silver borders, the terminal carved as a monster’s head. With iron suspension lugs intact. Mid- 17th century. Losses to lacquer. Overall height 17cm. Condition III
