Description
A scarce type produced by English armorers during the Civil Wars, rather than imported as most were. Composed of a two-piece skull with ribbed comb and applied peak and adjustable nasal with set-screw, the neck of a single, embossed plate and riveted borders throughout. Retains much original black finish. First half of the 17th century. Nasal possibly replaced. Overall height 28.6 cm.
