Description
Designed to be concealed in a sash or pocket. Stocked in dark walnut with vegetal carving about the breach, and silver furniture, finely embossed and engraved overall in baroque motifs. The buttcap with grotesque mask, the escutcheon a bust of Carlos III, King of Spain (ruled 1759-1788), crowned and festooned, identifiable by its distinctive profile. The fine patilla-type miquelet lock with engraved panels, the large-bore barrel with silver inlay to the octagonal breach and turnings. Mid-18th century. Light wear, ramrod replaced. Overall length 19.7 cm. Condition III
